Frosted Designs' Design Team Challenge

WOW...I can hardly believe two weeks have gone by already and its time again for another Frosted Designs' Design Team Challenge!  Make sure you take a few minutes and check out all the fun ideas this talented group of ladies came up with.
Can you guess the challenge?  Hum...Black & White + 1 color.
I think using CTMH lagoon was a great choice for this project...it's not green or blue but this fantastic color that really makes this mini album POP!!!
The album measures 4.25 x 6.25, I used cereal boxes for the cover and covered them with "For Always" paper packet by CTMH and it goes together in about 30 minutes.
The pages were made from this really cool 12x12 sheet of paper I found awhile back from Teresa Collins "Giving Thanks".  It had the 12 months printed on it...so I cut each month and used them for the pages of this book, then I added some tags for extra journaling and pictures.
Other supplies used:
Ranger Alphabets (black covered with white paint)
White Liquid Pearls, love this stuff
Boarder strips from For Always paper packet CTMH
CTMH Small Sparkles Clear Flourishes
CTMH White Daisy Cardstock
CTMH For Always Assortment
CTMH Black Assortment Buttons
CTMH Black Ink
CTMH Wheel of Life stamp set
CTMH Dream Pop paper packet
Hat Pin
Assortment of ribbon
And for my fun creative accident......
a dab of mint green liquid pearls on top of the clear flourishes to make a few green sparkles :)
Thanks for stopping by and stay inky my friends!

Baby Bird Alert!!!

Here is a quick update on my new fuzzy little babies....that bring me so much joy....baby mockingbirds
at my mailbox.
They are growing so fast...each day I check on them about 10 times, I know way too much, but they are so big now, I'm afraid one is gonna fall out of the nest...
Here they are waiting for momma for dinner :)
I'm not sure who is more over protective momma bird or momma human, lol.
Isn't this precious?  They make the cutest little sounds, almost like crickets.

Mahalo

I really enjoy meeting new people and it seems that I always meet my best-est friends over the phone!  While on vacation I got to know my landlord...Cathy...and she is amazing!  We are so much alike...she is one of those people that you can talk to for hours about anything and everything.  And guess what?  She's a stamper too!  Now she hasn't been stamping for some time, but nevertheless she is a sister of paper!  Every time I go somewhere I pick up a special stamp and this time it was this great Hula Girl stamp and I instantly knew what I was gonna do with it.
A card box with 6 Mahalo cards (thank you) in it for Cathy.  I thought the box would be a great keepsake of our new friendship made in Hawaii.  Now, Cathy lives in Canada and her birthday was last Friday and she's in New York to celebrate...so I put it in the mail the other day so it will arrive right after she gets home!
Don't worry...Cathy doesn't know my about blog yet, but she will when she gets her special gift.
I think this is one of the prettiest hula girl stamps I've ever found and its truly special because it reminds me of our wonderful trip and a new friend every time I see it in my craft room.

I colored her with copic markers...added some orange, yellow, and green stickles....stickles are so much fun! The sand is this really cool stuff called Malibu Beach by MuddPuddles and it rocks.....sand and some kind of glue and when it dries it adds such dimension to your project.  Found this in Hawaii too!
The paper is from Graphic 45.
Here are a few more views...notice the stickles on the flowers on top of the box too?
I can't wait for Cathy to get home.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.  Stay inky my friends.

New Baby Birdies

Before we went on vacation a mockingbird started a nest by our mailbox.  Now, I've never seen a bird in all the years I've lived here actually use a nest so close to where people are daily....and to my surprise a few days after returning home...I found these tiny eggs in the nest.
 and 12 days later.....

3 little fuzzy babies :)

Every time I go to the mailbox....I'm greeted by "little big mouth"...this one is the biggest of the bunch, as you can see, he or she is always the one with it's mouth open....waiting for dinner.
Now, when I check on them...I'm always keeping an eye out for momma, I don't wanna get her mad at me.
Her she is on my neighbor's roof.
And about 2 weeks ago, while home at lunch I noticed a scuffle in the palm tree next to my house and 2 baby doves had fallen out of their nest....momma comes to feed them each evening.
They've made a new home under my craft room window.....I hope they stay a bit longer.

May SOTM Blog Hop

Happy May everyone!  May....already!  Convention is right around the corner....I don't know about my fellow sister consultants, but I'm getting so excited...I can hardly stand it!  This month's featured stamp set is "Pinwheel", now let's get started.....we have 63 Consultants participating this month....make sure you hop through and see them all and don't forget to leave your comments to show your appreciation, it really means the world to have your input :).   If you are coming here from Brae Montgomery's Blog you're on the right path.....and if you get lost along the way, its easy to get back on track, just go to Helen Onulak's Blog for a full list of hoppers.
I heart making altered items...so I began by sorting through my mad stash of containers.  When I saw this stamp set all I could think of was dressing up some lollipops and I needed a container that could hold those pops.
I've been hording these My Creations Kraft Containers since August, just waiting for that perfect idea to come to mind.
And...last week when my preview of Dream Pop arrived I fell in love with this paper and I couldn't resist using it for this month's hop!  First, I covered the container with an assortment of the Dream Pop paper line, wow....it's so cheerful and the embossed papers are FABULOUS!!!!

Check out the detail on embossed cardstock.  Dream Pop comes with 12 B&T Duos Papers and 12 embossed cardstock pieces.  Exclusive colors for this packet are:  Banana, Grey, Mint, Raspberry, Strawberry, and Tangerine.  What yummy colors!

The tag really adds that special touch.
I had these lollipops I picked up at Micheal's for a workshop and thought, how cute would it be to sandwich them in between the pinwheel pieces?  When the lollies are gone the container will be a great keepsake or it can be used again for another special someone :)
